Ok, I am asking this question for my husband, who is at football camp. Our F-250 died on us yesterday. We had driven it out of town the day before. We got home, parked it and went to start it the next day and it wouldn't start. The engine turns over, and it sputters and sounds like it wants to start but it won't. It is also spitting black smoke ourt of the tail pipe. We can't get it to a dealership to have it "diagnosed" until tomorrow, but we are trying to get an idea of what the problem is?? We tried to charge the batteries, thinking that something was going on there, and that didn't help. Could it be something with the fuel injector? Is the turbo maybe going out?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Could be many things, bad sensor, fuel pump, an issue with the fuel or something different. What did the shop find?

Hi, Just had same issue, but mine would start but then blew all matter of black smoke, after you blow smoke out it ran ok. Took to Ford it was the fuel module, my truck ( engine ) out of warrent 2 weeks and FORD MOTOR COMPANY would not stand behind it even though the know and admit it is a very commun problem. Thank GOD the dealer was willing to work with me. Just wonder how many other people out there have had same issus. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
