Question: truck is backfiring and losing power going up a hill and then shut off

Put dry gas in it and it is still doing the same. What is causing this

    Stop creating problems. There's very few mechanics in a bottle. My guess is a distributor hall effect plate. Do you have any check engine light on?

    no. It will go then all of a sudden it will start back firing and then lose power
