When I start my car it will crank and "tick" and will take twice as long or longer to finally fire up. When the engine does finally fire up it putters and shakes a few times before feeling normal. After this I hardly notice any problems while running the car. I live in hawaii and the temp it alway warm or hot. I found that if I put the car in the "on" position for about 5 seconds and then "start" it fires up as normal. I imagine it may have something to do with the fuel regulator or pump. Looking for some advice on parts to look into replacing. Thank you

I've had the same problem for about six months now.. did you ever figure out how to fix it? I had my fuel pump replaced but it didn't seem to help. I've also had two different dealers look at it, and one of them told me I needed an update for my Powertrain Control Module, but once they tried to apply the update they found out there was none available. Any help or progress you've made on it would be much appreciated!
