Started out today as a not being able to put the automatic transmission in PARK and key stuck in it. Got started in Neutral and made it home, but having trouble now also getting it into REVERSE. Got key out of ignition by Holding the Lever slightly down and into Park, but it wont stay in Park.

It sounds like your steering column is wearing out, or something is getting loose, which would hinder the gear shift from staying in Park and shifting into reverse because the lever is part of the column. This would also effect your ignition lock and key.

It sounds like the shift linkage from your steering column to your transmission is loose.
There is a linkage rod that runs from the steering column to the shifter mechanism.
This rod has a tension screw that holds it in position. The screw is probably loose, so the linkage will need to be adjusted/repositioned and the screw tightened.
I takes two people to do this.

My 1993 dodge ram van 250 isn't shifting right. It's skipping from low to 3rd. It's an automatic transmission. My mechanic doesn't know why. Maybe it's something in the shift linkage.
