Okay, so i have a few more questions for a tech, i was told that if i replace the transmission control module, it should clear the 0733 code which says that gear 3 is incorrect ratio. Is this true? If so, i was quoted that the transmission control module would cost me $370.00, is this also true? Is there anyway to find a transmission control module any cheaper than that?

There is a service bulletin for your 2000 Kia Sephia related to the code P0733. An updated control module is available which may correct your problem. It is also possible that there is an internal transmission fault which is causing third gear to slip resulting in an incorrect gear ratio. The part number on your current Transmission Control Module should be checked against the service bulletin information to be sure the update applies to your vehicle.
