Question: transmission won't go into gear

Car has had no problems. Driving down the road, the car suddenly acted like it was put into neutral. There were no clunks, but a slight whine that sounded like a low power steering pump was evident. Fluid is full, not burned. Car has 103,000 miles. Shift cable moves, car won't go into gear, and the whine is gone. Thanks, Shrinks

This sounds like your transmission is going out on you. I hope I'm wrong, but you should get a shop to check it out!
