Question: Transmission slips from 1st to 2nd gear

The car takes off fine, but as it reaches 1800 rpm, it jumps to around 2800 rpm which seems to me like the transmission is slipping at this point and then it comes back to normal rpm within 1 or 2 seconds. Can you please advice what could be the problem here? Thanks so much!!

    Check your transmission fluid level first, then if that is ok, have a transmission shop look at your car. it could several things, bad valve body, internal failure of a clutch pack etc. it could also be very dirty fluid and a plugged filter. when was the lasttime you replaced your fluid and filter?
