Question: transmission shift solenoid

Rookie

My check engine light is on and i got read and they said it is the shift solenoid. i have tryed to find information on the internet about where the solenoids are located but i cant find anything. does anyone know anything about this problem?

did they tell you it was the TCC or torque converter clutch solenoid? I am not real familiar with Geo, but there were many GM vehicles that had a problem with the TCC solenoid. Usually it is inside the vertical transmission pan on the side of the trans, not the bottom pan.
