Is it over filled by chance? Check the fluid, in park and while the engine idles. If the fluid is not over filled, then it sounds like your transmission needs some work.

tranny won't come out of 1 gear can it be anything else i'm missing or do i need to replace the whole transmission
Can a clogged trans. filter cause the transmission to slip??-this truck has 213,000 miles on it- had the origional tranny replaced at about 105,000 miles.
The RPM's go up but the transmission wont down shift and the vehicle is slow to accellerate
Transmission has no forward pull but goes in reverse without any problems. When shifted into any forward gear, does not engage, no change in engine rpm. What are the possible problems?
