2005 Grand Prix started jerking before the gear would engage and now you put it in a gear and push on gas peddle and it won't go anywhere in any gear. If you are on a hill it will drift backwards. If you shut it off and wait a while and restart the car and put in gear it will engage but doesn't have much power. Could that be the transmission going bad!!
I was just at Walmart and try to start my car. It reversed just fine. But when I put it in drive it would not go. I put it in first gear and it went it was able to shift to second manually, and then it shifted the 3rd. I drove it home it will not going to drive. What do you think it is? Did I lose my transmission?
Car shifts hard from 1st, 2nd gear, stops once 40+ mph are reached. Can let the car sit for 2 to 4 hours and it will not shift hard again.
Transmission whines and shifts hard after a while of driving
Once the transmission gets warm, it revs engine and shifts hard through 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Once a speed of 45mph+ is reached the car is fine. Solution, replacing solenoid and having the valve checked out at as well.
Transmission began slipping then stopped pulling in any gear. Diagnosed as the Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid. Replaced the defective part.
I'll be driving and it feels like a slip of the tranny, this is very spuratic.
When I tried reversing into my drive way (which is slightly tilted upwards) and my car would refuse to move. Then while I was driving it would jerk when i was at 45mph. I then would increase my speed at 50-55mph it would stop....
I have had problems with this car before and it has never been like this, Looking for assistance so i can find out what the next step is that I would have to take.

Had transmission rebuilt 3 years ago. Just had power steering pump replaced , camshaft Sensor . My car has been leaking big puddles. I'm to believe bottom seal to transmission. Now problem I go to warm car up and take off .the car has hard time going .finally start to move and seems to run ok. What is going on ????
a pause then jumps into gear
My car has been fine. No symptoms of a tranny issue what so ever. Woke up this morning and went to leave. Shifted into reverse and nothing happened. Then I shifted into drive...nothing...1st..2nd...3rd..nothing. shut the car off and restarted it. Shifted into reverse and it seemed to be working...until I stopped...then nothing again. Shut it off restarted it put it in drive and it seemed to go forward until I stopped again... solenoid??

Transmissions shop says not worth fixing yet. Would be to costly.Some times hard shift some times smooth.
I will wait for transmission to go bad & then have them rebuild it.

Intermittent hard shifting in all gears. Feels like it has a shift kit.
Have had the issue for 5 years now. Only have the problem in winter months (Dec, Jan, Feb) and only shifts hard after it warms up. Shifts perfect in warmer months for the past 5 years. I was told I need a trans solenoid and was quoted $1100 by a local shop. Decided to just drive it until it breaks.
