Erratic Shifting of the Automatic Transmission on Buick Park Avenue

The transmission pressure control solenoid may fail causing erratic shifting. Our technicians tell us that partial dis-assembly of the transmission is necessary to replace a failed pressure control solenoid.

My car started to have hard up-shifts after driving a few minutes. It would bang from 1st to 2nd gear, 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th. Sometimes, if I were to shut off the engine for a few minutes, the problem goes away for a bit. I was told that I had to replace the Electronic Pressure Sensor for about $800 (after labor)

My car jerks occasionally when the transmission shifts. It feels like something breaks when it happens, but then the car runs normal. It does it in town or on the highway. Very annoying.

Hard shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, then 3rd to 4th gear. The shifting is hard,and noisy. The car literally jerks when its shifting from 1st to 4th gear. Down shifting from 4th to 1st when slowing down or stopping is as expected, smooth and natural.

Start car put in R trany slips then bangs into R. Stop car go shopping, start car put in drive trany bangs , feels like I was rearended. on the down shift trany bangs. No trany noise other than the bang.Highway driving 60 70 mph no problems. If trans is shifted od, to 3,2,1 then stop and pull out no banging.

periodic rough, hard shifting; sometimes when cold, other times when warmed-up. Changed & flushed trans oil & filter, still periodic rough, hard shifting.

Bought vehicle used. Almost right away developed hard upshifts usually 3rd to 4th gear. Changed tranny oil, filter, used additive. Seemed to help, but problem worsened. Most problem in warmer weather (not as often in winter), now get hard up shifts all gears when warmed up, tho occasionally will shift normally. At highway speeds, after getting hard upshifts, also get a whine from transmission - apparently running in high pressure mode. Vehicle now has 240,000 + miles on it.

Hard upshifting after driving over a minimum of 20 min occasionally. No check engine light. Mechanic states pressure control solenoid and valve assembly replacement/repair.

getting code P0742, Torque Converter Solenoid. told that this code sometimes thrown as result of different problem. having low speed/low gear shifting issues as car bucks and hesitates upon acceleration up to about 1250 rpms. above that it shifts fine.
temp. at195 to 205 after driving an hour tranny shifts through all 3 gears hard felt.

every now and then when you start it up and drive off you will experience hard shifting. (this is in every gear) it only happens like once a month. i found that if you turn it off and turn it back on it will reset it self and shift just fine. no light or check engine light will turn on.

WAS SHIFTING HARD SOMETIMES. NOW IT WON'T GO AFTER YOU START DOWN THE ROAD IT LIKE IT GOES OUT OF DRIVE AND THE TECH RUNS UP. LIKE IT IS IN NO GEAR.
after get warmed up it shift hard up next gear it has mess with the emisson test put it in not ready mode
I was told, it might be main driver that is the problem and was wondering if it isn't the Pressure control solenoid. My problem is a small noise before it shifts into high gear, around 45 to 50 mph.
