transmission pan on 1995 Audi A6 Quattro

does this car have a sensor that will stop it from shifting if the transmission pan is off cause the car is in neutral and the pan is off i tried to put it in park but it whould not take

park is mechanical and should engage no matter what. if you had the valve body off you may have a rod that fell out of place.

Having the pan off shouldn't change the mechanical shifting, are you sure the linkage wasn't disconnected or effected in some way?

1. You could put the pan back on and see if the transmission will shift to park. 2. I assume you have Anti-theft locking system on your car. When the Ignition key is remove it automatically locks the Transmission preventing the car from being moved/rolled, towed etc. All this for a Transmission ATF change? Best regards jkaudiA6
