Transmission Leak From Output Shaft Seal on Cadillac Seville STS

One or both transmission output shaft seals may leak. Our technicians tell us that worn bushings inside the transmission could be the cause of the damaged seals. Our technicians tell us that if a bushing is worn, excess play will be noted where the drive axle attaches to the transmission.

I also have a output seal leak. It really leaks badly when backing up. I haven't fixed the problem yet, but the chattering on the highway can't possibly be good for the undercarriage. Hope GM figures out the solution for future projects.
Is this very costly to repair
