Mercedes-Benz E430 Problem Report

Mercedes-Benz E430 Transmission Oil Seals May Leak on High Mileage Vehicles

(7 reports)

High mileage vehicles may develop a leak from one or more of the transmission oil seals.

Transmission kicks when shifting gears, may not up-shift at all and occasionally does not transfer torque at all until engine is shut off and turned back on. Have noticed some fluid on the ground that just started happening and I could not check transmission level because of the lock cap on the filler tube. -
Will hard shift or not shift out of 1st gear -
