transmission not shifting correctly on 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500

why does my transmission sometimes start off in high gear?it doesnt begin in first and go through the normal pattern. I have been told that it is some type of sensor. it doesnt happen all of the time.

You may have a fault with one of your shift solenoids. There should be a fault code stored in your powertrain control module. Accessing the code or codes should help to diagnose your transmission fault.

I know you hate to hear this.... but if your vehicle is 4+ years old and about 80+ thousand miles and you pull a trailer.... you might wanna start making connections with the folks at Jasper for one of their rebuilt transmissions.... ask me how I know!!! :(
