Yes! However you can only replace with same transmission, example= so if you have a 4l60 it need to be replaced with the same build 4l60. with that said you can only use a 2wd trans for a 4wd but not a 4wd for a 2wd, what you need to change 2wd ito 4wd is remove the tail housing from the 2wd and dicard, next remove the t case adaptor from the 4wd trans, set aside, you will need this later now mesure the output saft of the 4wd and mark the 2wd output saft to the same lenght, now cut it to that lenght, i use a portable band saw. next you will need to bevile the edge of the saft simaller to the original trans, i used a 4inch grinder this does not need to be pretty. now buff the end of the shaft with a wire brush make sure you keep all metal out of trans of course, i tape the end of the trans when i have done this. next install the adaptor and t case. good to go. I have also swaped the th350, 700r4 th400 and 4L60 will all swap this way, however you will have to make some provisions for lockup or vacuum mod, they will fit without drive line or cross member mods. and this is only the case for using a 2wd trans for a 4wd trans. Now if you want to use a 4wd for a two wheel drive you have to dissasimbly the trans and replace output shaft.
