 Rookie

How do I check my transmission fluid? There is not a dip stick, but I do see a little cap under the hood that appears to be for transmission fluid.

    These generally need a special tool (dipstick) to be able to check this. I thing the reason they do this is to prevent people from checking and adding fluid improperly, which is very easy to do. If you must do this yourself, get a good repair manual and the "tool" and learn how to check this properly.
