transmission fluid on 2000 Lincoln Continental

how can i tell weather i have enough transmission fluid or if i need some?

Your owners manual should say where the trans dipstick is at and how to check it correctly.

To supplement Ron, the transmission dipstick is on the drivers side - right on the transaxle. It should be checked with the engine and transmission at operating temperature (warmed up). The fluid will hopefully fall between the "Fill" and "Full" ranges on the dipstick. If it's below the fill line, you can add a quart of Mercon V fluid.

I changed the tranny fluid and filter, linkage is fine and fluid shows on dipstick but it seems there is no fluid getting to torque converter? anything else I can do without pulling tranny out?
Don't know much about transmissions
The issues only occurs once the motor heats up ... after about 20 miles of driving the check transmission light comes on
The fluid is up to the point and the light still comes on.
