how do you check and replace the transmission fluid in a 97 Cadillac catera

There is a fill plug in the side of the transmission pan. With the transmission at normal operating temperature, remove the plug. Fluid should be at the lower edge of the fill hole. If the fluid is low you can use an oil suction gun to add fluid. This fluid check and fill procedure on your 1997 Cadillac Catera is made much easier if you have access to an automotive lift.
