I was driving and car started smoking real bad. I discovered that there was a leak of transmission fluid coming from a metal rod that sits in front of the radiator. It runs across the front of the car and I dont know what the name of it is. Do you think you can help me?

This has got to be a transmission cooler line, leading to the cooler in front of the radiator. You may have hit something that damaged the hose, and it will probably need to be replaced. You don't want to drive the car if the fluid is leaking out, you can cause damage to the transmission. Good Luck
