started shifting hard out of 3rd and 5th gear then check engine light came on. Codes where P0700 and P0716 took it to the dealership and they said it was the 3-5-R waveplate. It was covered under the powertrain warrenty

Same as noted. Slipping while backing up. The Check light came on many times I had the dealer look at it and was told there was no problem. Now that the warranty is up and the problem is so noticeable they know what the problem is but it's now my out of pocket cost.

Difficulty changing gears: Mechanic said it was a faulty part.
I didn't have any check engine lights on. My car just started doing all those things stated. Not sure what my mechanic is going to say yet. The car is at the garage as I type .

Transmission started shifting hard a couple of times on drive home from a trip. Then the RPM's started to rev occassionally to 5000rpm. Then the RPMs bounced between 1500 and 2500 rpms. The check engine light came on and we pulled of to the side of the freeway. We tried to go again and it would not shift or go into reverse. Had to be towed in. It is now at the dealer waiting to be repaired with GM assistance since I was out of warrenty.

35r wave clutch broke $1500 repair out of warentt
I received a recall on the air bags and the called to make an appointment to get that fixed. That morning my car was slipping out of drive while driving and I had to slow down until it caught or put it in low. I told the service dept when I called and they said they would check it out when I brought it in five days. I told the I was afraid to drive it living in the mountains since if I am going up hill and this happens the person behind me almost rear ends me. They said it would be fine. I didn't drive it over the weekend and Monday morning I had to pushed out of my driveway because it wouldn't go into reverse. When I took it in I was told it was the transmission plate which was in recall and it would be fixed for free. The next day they call and want $6,000 for a new transmission! When I refused they lowered it to $500.00 which I am still fighting. I am suppose to pick it up tomorrow and I am doing as much research as possible before I go. This has proved to be most helpful. No error codes, just an obvious problem with the transmission shifting into the proper gear after deceleration.
