The car would not go in reverse and would not consistently move forward when put in drive. It was covered by the manufactures insurance and it was repaired at a GM (chevrolet) service department. They had to take a part the transmission and replace the wave plate and many other parts of the transmission and engine. It took them about 20 days to repair. Much of that was spent waiting for parts.

I had this same problem but it was covered under my extended warrenty. The dealer is trying to get me to pay $290.00 to flush the torque converter but I don't think thats needed. Does anyone know if I should do this.
