2005 Honda Accord Hybrid

 

Question: transmission and brake fluid change times

The manual says transmission and brake fluids should be changed at 125,000 miles. The dealerships insists it needs to be done at 30,000 and 100,00 miles or 65,000 and 125,000 miles. I want to do what is correct not what the dealer wants in order to make money. Please advise.

    Go with the manual. The dealership is looking for extra income. Unless you are driving nothing but stop and go traffic the manual is the best bet for the routine maintenance (the manual should even tell you how much sooner if it's stop and go/harsh conditions). After the first transmission fluid change it is recommended to get it flushed and changed every 60k miles.
