transmission on 1998 Honda CR-V

transmission started slipping, check engine light came on, stopped vehicle and transmission completely failed....any insight from anyone would be greatly appreciated

The Honda CRV transmissions do fail. Did you have any work done recently? Because if the Transmission was drained and filled and the Honda factory fluid was not used, the incorrect Trans fluid will ruin the trans in short order.
