Question
My transmission has been rebuilt and is now leaking transmission fluid from the hose that's called the breather hose/over flow hose. It only leaks when fluid gets hot and stops when vehicle is shut off. I was told that it may be a coolant problem, however in the last 4 months I have had a new radiator installed, intake gasket replaced, new heater coil, and exhaust manifold replaced. My trainy was done my by a friend whom has done everything by the book and can still not figure out why its leaking nor has the time to fool with it any longer. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated :)
P.S. I have been without my vehicle for almost 4 months now...rrrr

Sorry to hear this story, must be frustrating. Why was all the cooling system work done? Make sure the transmission fluid level is good, and make sure the correct fluid was used.

Yes,very frustrating. First of all my radiator had a leak and over heated , we put the sealant stuff in it hoping it would stop the leak but it didn' t so I took it in to the shop& they said it needed to be replaced. After they installed the new radiator they called to say I still had a leak and believed it to be a freeze plug and I should take it else where to fix it. Bought the $2.00 freeze plug took it to another shop. They said it wasn't the freeze plug, it was the intake manifold gasket leaking. During the process of fixing this they broke something and had to take it to the machine shop which took a couple of days. They also put a coolant sensor on it. Got my truck back after 3 weeks and it didn't run well at all. Took it to yet another shop and they said the pin was bent on the coolant sensor, fixed it and it would at least stay running. Few days later the transmission went out. Manifold, heater coil and all was done months prior to the radiator problem. Correct fluid was used, however it was over filled and the first test drive it leaked out pretty fast and there was clicking when we put it in reverse....so my friend took the trainy back out and thought he had it fixed but it still leaked. A few days ago we did figure out that a hose was loose up under the hood area -although that was not where it was leaking from. It is still leaking from the pan area and from the hose. Someone did tell me that if you over filled it it could blow seals????...Maybe this happened....I have put so much into it I hate to stop now but funds are low and thank goodness I found this site...thanks for replying Bret.
