transmision on 2000 Ford Focus

is the transmision on a focus spi the same as the one on the ztec and can i change it from an automatic to standard

Changing the transmission from automatic to standard is a huge job, First of all a automatic car needs to have a third pedal for the clutch and your wiring harness would need to be changed. Cheaper to buy a standard transmission car.

And the fact Zetec and SPI don't hae the same type of transmissions. Zetec has MTX-75 while the SPI has an IB5 transmission (manual that is).

...s later, could not replicate the sound. There are no problems going though gears in drive, the transmision was flushed no more than a month ago. Thanks for your help, Mike
