2002 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Question: transfer case out put shaft
Answer #1Oakman September 17, 2009, 15:30Master
If play is noted at the output shaft of the transfer case where the drive shaft slides in on your 2002 Chevrolet Suburban it could be due to a worn output shaft bushing. This would most times be accompanied by a leak from the output shaft seal. If the seal is not leaking and there is no abnormal noise I would question whether or not the play is excessive. You may wish to have a qualified technician inspect the problem area and confirm there is indeed a problem.

I did talk to a tech. He suggested pulling the drive shaft from the transfer case and lube real well. It has done the trick! So far! Thanks for your answer.
