transfer case on 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

my husband is considereing buying a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2L V8. The guy he's buying it from says the transfer case needs to be replaced. What is the stock transfer case for this vehicle?

3 options on that year, np231- is a part time transfer case(2h-4h-n-4l), np242-is part time and full time(2h-4h part time-4h full time-n-4l), and np249- is a full time transfer case(4h full time-n-4l) posted by david mcdonald

I don't know if this is the answer you're looking for, but I can tell you that my hubby and I replaced the 4x4 transfer case on his 1995 J.G.C. and spent $1100 doing so.
