Well... The 1993 and 1994 transmissions - although both saying "AXOD" (really AXOD-E units / AX4S) - are different.

Looking at the wiring connector, pin 7 is different from 1993 - 1994. 1993 has a red wire for voltage, 1994 has a light green with white tracer wire that says "EPC solenoid and TCC solenoid, voltage".

They appear to do the same kind of thing, but making an effort to change wire color year over year would cost thousands of dollars in engineering and supply -- it must mean something.

Your processor probably handles information differently one year to the next. You may not be able to reasonably resolve this issue.

So are the shift solenoids different between 1993 and 1994 , or just the wiring is different ?

I truly cannot answer that question specifically; I don't have a parts reference for the individual solenoids.

I do know that the part numbers for the 93 and 94 assemblies are different, indicating some kind of internal change year over year. Could be several things. Not entirely sure. If you can resolve the wiring issue, you may be able to get it to all work. But I have no point of reference to share with you.
