My 95 E420 was running real bad so I had it towed to the dealer. They replaced the trottle body and now i dont have reverse. I had experienced no problems before. When you put it in R it feels like the the parking brake is on and when you give it gas it wont move even on a hill. Could they have hooked something up wrong when they replaced the trottle body to cause this?

Question: Trans issues

It could be purely coincidental. I had the exact same thing happen twice in 30 years of working on cars. Did work on a car unrelated to the transmission put it in reverse to back it out of my work bay and the transmission had failed (luckily it was a friend's car with high mileage) and the second time it was a regular customer that just took our word for it that the transmission had failed took the transmission apart and the failure was obvious but still it's embarrassing and always makes the customer have doubts. There is nothing they could have done in throttle body replacement that should have caused the transmission to fail.

There is a vacumm line that goes from the throttle body to the trasnmission that tells it when to shift it probubly came off. On mine it just shifted really hard but would shift so your issue could be different, but the area they where working is where this line is located it attached on the right side of the transmission if you where facing the motor or the lcft side if facing the trunk. They say that reverse goes out when the transmission is starting to fail so you may be out of luck....
