The tranny went out in my 03 Monte so I too it to dealer and had new factory tranny installed. Each new tranny( currently number 3) has had issues, they all have created a tapping noise and they are shifting hard and or wont shift until after the engine hits 3500 rpms. I am goign to take it back Monday yet again and am wondering what they may be forgetting or missing that may be causing these issues?

It sounds like your shift point adaption is way off. Is it being re-set with each new trans? Are all the Speed Sensors ok? Do you ever get any Service Engine Soon Lights coming on? Are you sure that this is GM factory transmission being out in your car? I know other people who have had a hard time with GM factory transmissions. I know a guy who had 5 put in his Tahoe until they found a good one!!!

I would think that a Chevrolet dealer installing a Brand new Chevrolet tranny would know to check for these things...I am getting really frustrated with it. I paid over 3 grand so it had dang well better be a new one as that is what they said...thanks for at least giving me ideas on what to ask them about though.

on models with 3800 engine hard or erratic troubles but will go in all gears tps is on bottom of throttle body above exhaust crossover it is very much likely to be bad and will cause many diffrent trans issues ask them to manually check with dvom.
