Tranmission on 1990 Toyota 4Runner

My 1990 runner just idles when i hit the gas. i only have 115,000 miles on it. what could be the problem?

Check the cable from the gas pedal to the throttle position sensor and if thats intact then its more than likely the throttle position sensor has failed, I see four or five different brands available average price about $130 for the part

Accelerator cable could have come undone or loose check it \out oops some one already answered sorry Ditto Valleyautotech

have you had the timing belt replaced?

Totally off the wall answer...maybe Anonymous, July 31, 2010, 20:21 should go check their muffler bearings and blinker fluid ?

...1993 toyota 4runner recently stopped working. Is there a way to test the speed sensor at the tranmission end to determine if that is the cause before pulling the dash apart to check there.
