the front dif locks in, everything says it is in 4 hi, could gears be stripped in shift motor that it says it is in 4 wheel, but it is not shifting the fork over? What sensor says that it is locked in 4hi? Is that part of shift motor that it turns far enough to engage sensor but does not move the fork in tranfer case

Can be scanned to find problem. If it were on a lift could simply see if front driveshaft is turning. Might need to get some hands-on help.

Can be scanned with a good scanner, a must when troubleshooting the transfer case! Will it shift to 4 lo?

possible prob. with fork shifter. bring it to tranny shop for diagnostic run(more thorough scan than general maintenence shop). tranny tech. will advise.
