1996 Toyota T100 Question: tranansmission dose not shift in second gear untill the truck warms up .

after the truck is warm it works perfectly.

    Just for starters , when was the last trans. filter and fluid change? Also is the fluid at the proper level now?

    fulid is full and almost new,..... problem is not new been doing it for 5000 to 8000 miles.

    Best bet at this point , then , is to have either the dealer or a trans shop you trust scan the trans control module for codes. Hopefully the problem is electrical , not mechanical. Was the fluid change done before or after the symptom showed up? Make sure you let whomever checks it out know that.
