what causes the traction light to come on and what should i replace

Is the Check Engine Light also on, many sensors are shared by transmission, engine, traction control and other systems. A scantool is need to retrieve codes through the 16 pin diagnostic socket on the driver's side lower of the dash.

yes the check engine light is also on but it had been previously for about a month before the traction light. i was driving in the rain and went to accelerate from a stop light and the light started flashing and now its almost like i have no antilock brakes
