I get a traction control malfunction warning on the dash information system. This happens when the car is started, and a grrr sound is present. It stops when I disable the traction system using the on-dash button. What could be going on? transmission fluid is correct, serviced the brakes at Sears recently.

You need to have the Traction control system inspected. Did the problem ever occur before you have the brake work? Maybe they accidentally left something loose?

I had the same problem and took it to the dealer. They had it in the shop for about 5 minutes and came to me and said the right side harness is bad. Cost $214.72 to fix witch only took them 45 minutes. The harness is about 15 to 20 inches long. This must be a common problem for them to tell me 5 minutes. They said it could have been from water or a bad wire. My 2009 Impala only has 29,000 miles on it and is out of warranty by a year. Never really drive the car to much. I think if it was a bad wire that they know of it should have been fixed by GM.
