You need to get the diagnostic codes read out from the computer, then follow the diagnostic test that is associated with those codes. This is best left to a shop that has the tools, equipment and technical info to do this correctly.

IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE CODE READER THAT YOU USE TO RUN THE CHECK ENGINE CODES, THEN THAT DIDN'T TELL ME WHAT IT WAS EITHER. ANYWAYS HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK A MECHANIC WOULD CHARGE TO CHECK IT?

They may charge .5 - 1.0 hours to connect their computer to your car, read the codes and perform a preliminary inspection/diagnosis, but this fee can vary quite a bit, some places may do a quick check for free if your a good customer, some places may ask for a couple hours to get started on a problem like this.
When you consider the equipment and training costs, and complexity of these electronic stability systems, then you start to see why shops charge what they do. Just be sure to take it to a shop that has experience with these vehicles.

Cadillac Dealer, or look for another shop in your area. http://repairpal.com/woodhaven-auto-repair
One more thing, check your owners manual for the proper operation of this light. It's not uncommon for this light to normally come on when the wheels are losing traction, like on icy/wet roads

THATS VERY TRUE AND ITS STARTING TO GET TO THOSE CONDITIONS AROUND HERE. I KNOW ONE DAY I MADE THE CAR FISHTAIL ON A RAINY NIGHT BUT I DID IT ON PURPOSE BUT IM SURE A CAR LIKE THIS ISN'T SUPPOSE TO LET YOU DO THAT. WELL WHEN I GOT THE CAR IT DIDNT HAVE THE OWNER'S MANUAL BUT I AM LOOKING TO BUY IT SINCE THERE IS ALOT OF STUFF I WANT TO LOOK UP... LIKE WHAT ARE THOSE ICONS BY THE GEARS... ONE OF THEM IS A SNOWFLAKE AND THE OTHER IS A GEAR WITH AN S IN THE MIDDLE

Check here for a manual, might be free: http://www.gm.com/gmownercenter/cadillac/
The snowflake and "S" are likely for the transmission shift modes. S = Sport mode, allows for the transmission to shift in a way that gives you better performance (later shifts), and the snowflake is for winter driving, possibly for driving in the snow. This will often cause the transmission to start out in a higher gear, 2nd or 3rd gear, so as to avoid too much torque to the wheels, causing wheel spin.
I was just looking at one of these on the road today, and thought, "I can see myself in that car"!
Be careful out on those slippery roads!

if the traction control light is on, it means you have turned it off. I know, sounds wierd, i did it to by mistake. Go to your radio "tuning" knob (the big one that looks like your volume control knob, but on the right). Push it in and go throught the menu. keep pushing the up and down buttons as you scroll through the menu. I cant tell you exactly which menu item it is under, but you will find it. It is the same knob where you set up your equalizer settings for your radio. When finished with one, and so not find what you are looking for, hit clear and go back to pushing the knob until you get to your traction menu. Just hit the button to turn it "on", (meaning you turn off the light) and you will be set. I know it sounds confusing, but as i said, i did the same thing. I will try to locate it and give more specifics later, but try it on your own.

If you are not setting any codes, than I would guess you do have the traction control turned off. Try the traction control button located inside your glovebox (I know, great place to put it)
