The airbag control module can fail prematurely due to electrical noise beyond the tolerance it was designed for. As a result the front airbags, side airbags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners could deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated, increasing the risk of personal injury and/or a crash. Dealers will replace the airbag control module and front and/or side impact sensors as required to correct this concern.

These vehicles are being recalled because of an electrical fault with the subwoofer, a component of the stereo system. A short circuit may develop which can result in fire. While a remedy hasn't been announced, an interim fix which disconnects the subwoofer has been implemented by dealers.

Vehicles fitted with a trailer lighting module are being recalled because the module's software may falsely detect an electrical short in the system, shutting power off to the trailers electrical system. Signals, braking and safety lamps on the trailer may turn off automatically, resulting in unsafe towing conditions. Dealers will replace the trailer light module with a new unit and corrected software, free of charge.

Sensors on board the vehicle detect the presence of a seated passenger and may not be calibrated correctly. These sensors determine whether the vehicle's airbag systems should be deployed in the event of a crash and may turn them off, causing risk of injury to a passenger. Dealers will recalibrate the vehicle's passenger sensors free of charge.

Vehicles with accessories (running boards, etc.) installed by SET are being recalled due to incorrect installation. Fasteners used to attach these accessories were installed with incorrect torque, and may detach resulting in unsafe driving conditions.

Southeast Toyota is recalling certain vehicles because the seat heater element may become damaged as a result of compression of the seat cushion. The damaged element could short causing burning of the seat cushion, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will disconnect seat heaters with copper strand elements and refund the purchase price of the seat heater accessory to correct this concern.

56 vehicles are being recalled because the rubber boot on the front suspension lower control arm ball joint may have been damaged during manufacturing. The damaged boot could leak lubricant resulting in premature wear and/or failure. A failed ball joint may separate from the steering knuckle resulting in loos of vehicle control. Dealers will inspect and replace the suspect ball joints as necessary to correct this concern.

The left side lower control arm is a component of the front suspension. One of the bolts may not properly secure the control arm to the ball joint. This could cause the control arm can fail unexpectedly resulting in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. This limited regional recall is for vehicles currently registered or first sold in southern Florida, along the Gulf Coast, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Saipan and American Samoa. Upon deployment the passenger airbag inflator could rupture, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will replace the passenger side air bag inflator to correct this concern. If a replacement inflator is not available, as an interim measure, the dealer will disable the front passenger air bag and advise the customer not to use the front passenger seat until a replacement inflator is installed.
