2013 Toyota Tacoma Recalls

Brakes,February 12, 2014
RepairPal Expert Overview:

The brake system contains an actuator that adjusts the fluid pressure to the brake at each wheel. An electrical component inside the actuator may experience an increased electrical resistance resulting in the illumination of various warning lights, including those for the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system, Antilock Brake System (ABS), and Traction Control system. As a result, these systems may not function as expected, reducing directional control assistance and increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will update the software for the Skid Control module to correct this concern.

Engine,November 7, 2013
RepairPal Expert Overview:

The engine in the vehicles being recalled may have been assembled with valve springs that can break over time. If a valve spring were to break the engine could fail and/or stall unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the valve springs in the affected engines to correct this concern.

Suspension & Steering,October 17, 2013
RepairPal Expert Overview:

Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain vehicles equipped with 18" Maverick Alloy Wheels. The spare wheel requires a different style of lug nut to attach it to the vehicle. These lug nuts were not supplied when the vehicle was first sold. Use of the incorrect lug nuts when mounting the spare wheel can cause it to loosen over time, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will perform the following remedy for this concern: Install a Warning Label on the spare tire/wheel, supply a bag containing proper spare wheel lug nuts, place an Owner's Manual Addendum in the vehicle's glove box.

Body, Interior & Misc.,April 9, 2013
RepairPal Expert Overview:

Vehicles have a tire size/weight rating label to inform owners of the carrying capacity of their vehicle. These models are being recalled because the incorrect vehicle weight rating is shown on the information label. This could result in vehicle and tire overloading, increasing the risk of tire failure. Owners will be provided an updated vehicle weight label to correct this concern.
