1996 toyota tacoma, 4 wheel drive, 2.7 engine, when cold the engine starts perfect, but when you shut id down, it will start back immediately, but if you let it set for 15 or 20 minutes it want start, i put a new fuel pump on it about 3 years ago, i put a different distributor shaft with coil on it, a new distributor cap, a new roller button, new wiring, new plugs, different EGR valve, took throttle body off and cleaned good and put new gaskets on that, a cold water sensor behind the engine, its broke me up, dont know what to do now, please help me if you can, THANKS
WHAT VOLTAGE SHOULD I HAVE
the ignition switch was left on over night.next morning we charge the battery and now the truck will not start.before the key was left on the truck ran great
having a misfire problem scanner will show all cylinders misfiring at times the faster the engine runs the worst it gets but idles great and starts good hot or cold also gets fair gas mileage 193000 miles
Turn the key and everything lights up but the start is dead. after a few more tries it starts. Replaced the ignition switch, no help.
pulled my truck into the garage, installed a new stereo, messed with the stereo with the car off and now it wont start, the battery is charged and everything works but the engine wont start
My 96 Toyota Tacoma got hot, then I heard a pressure relieving/hissing sound ,then it acted like the thermostat opened up and temp. went back to normal. Then as I ascended a slight grade the engine lost power and died. after I came to a stop the engine was smoking all around the intake manifold and smelled like burnt oil. Is this a badly blown head gasket or a detonated motor?
2.4 cylinder engine. Engine has been using water for a while.
deposits on contacts had to be scraped off
Problem starts after the a c is been on for about 20 minutes
What if I don't replace sensor? What should I do about engine light? Truck has 344,000 miles on it.
