Load Carrying Capacity Modification Labels Are Missing
Body, Interior & Misc., September 18, 2009
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
All vehicles require certain informational labels. One of these required labels indicates the load carrying capacity of the vehicle, tires, and rims. This information is important to be noted so that the vehicle does not get overloaded with weight and become unsafe to drive.
What Should You Do?
We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall. Please contact your Toyota dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The load carrying capacity modification label may be missing from the vehicle. This information provides maximum load carrying weights as well as information about required tires and wheels. If not present, an inappropriate load may be carried in the vehicle, increasing a safety risk. Toyota has supplied customers with a new label to affix to the vehicle. This recall began on August 18, 2009.
