Torque Converter on 1994 Cadillac Seville SLS

My check engine light comes on after I get over 50 mph. The code says torque converter problem. The drive train feels and sounds normal. Could it be a sensor gone bad or is the converter on the verge of failure?

Usually when you get this code is the Converter itself save some money for a big repair in the near future.

Mine did that and after taking to the transmission shop, a complete transmission rebuild was needed. $3,600. It is the biggest GM transmission they put in a sedan. Plus being a front wheel drive it's a quite a project to get that thing out of there.
