This transmission uses "Nissan matic J" type fluid. The transmission pan definitely shows a ring shaped magnet inside the oil pan and my labor guide shows a time for removing transmission pan and changing the filter.

I Have a 2005 titan and i know it has a transmission screen type filter that can be purchased at most any reputable auto parts store as a replacement. Always done the 4 qt. drain and fill each 30,000 mi.I have well over 100,000 mi now and that is when i replaced the screen filter,it was not dirty at that mileage, but you dont know until you dig into it.

It has a washable screen, not a filter. It's better to remove the pan, clean or replace the filter screen, clean the magnets. Reinstall pan with new gasket.
