I had a leaking power steering hose. It takes a special wrench to remove it. So I took it to Tires Plus and they estimated around $100.00. So I agreed and waited. When done with this very simple hose replacement, they presented me with a bill for $150! It's not the extra fifty bucks that made me mad, it was the $20 "diagnostic fee" (I pointed at the leaking hose, you could obviously SEE the leak) and the $12 charge for power steering fluid. Now power steering fluid at a parts store is about three dollars. Plus don't try to tell me they dont buy that in bulk (gallons) for cheap. After pointing these items out, they reluctantly agreed and took them off the bill. But it was obvious they wanted to pad their bill.
I don't know where to even start with this Tires Plus in Hunters Creek. They have cheated me and my roommate many times and like fools we kept going back until we caught on and started doing our on research and footwork. They repaired my car with a faulty cooling fan, and when it broke less than a year later they refused to acknowledge it was the fan motor (Firestone in Sanford confirmed the fan was broken) on top of the situation they wouldn't honor their warranty. They charged me aprox. 600 dollars for the job at the time. I was completely ripped off. They wanted to charge 700 dollars to replace a fan motor as well for a 97 Camry. I have reason to believe they damaged other parts to have repeat business as items kept breaking that I had repaired by another mechanic after I took it to Tires Plus and they serviced it. Do not go here your wallet and car will thank you. I have had many other issues at this shop. Not worth it.
