This is the best kept secret in the world. Finally found one in a Motors Manual for a 1999 ranger 2.5 liter & it worked perfectly for my '97 2.3. Besides the crank sprocket there are two identical sprocket wheels, camshaft(top) & auxillary(center). They have 3 marks each, a triangle, a diamond, and a groove. Ignore the groove, it doesn't do anything. With crank @ #1 TDC align the 2 triangles on the cam wheel& engine the 2 diamonds on the auxillary wheel& engine. Hope this helps.
