Timing belt replacement on 2004 Toyota Highlander

My owner's guide indicates that the timing belt on a 4cyl doesn't need to be replaced. Can that be right? It is at 90K for the 6cyl.

The 2.4L 4 Cylinder engine on your Highlander is driven by a Timing Chain which does not require scheduled replacement.

This excellent vehicle has been driven 25,500 miles, primarily on trips trwice a year. The dealer told me I need to change the belt (& ? water pump) due to age instead of miles. Is that correct?
We were told by the toyota dealer at the last service that we should replace the timing belt, the car is 5 years old and only has 53,000 miles on it I think it's to soon what do you think?
