2001 Volvo S80 Question: timing belt broke, head a valves ok. how do you time the crank and cams?

There are special tools needed to do this, the marks are not very helpful. FYI, it's nearly impossible to break the timing belt and not bend valves on this engine. How do you know they are ok?

head was pressure tested, and the valve were replaced and resealed. And no the timing marks aren't much help. Its all back together already and I checked the clearance and it rotates freely and will run, just not well.
