1998 Cadillac Catera Question: Timing belt and towing

iguanalegal, Orem, UT, July 04, 2009, 03:56

i live in orem and i just bought this car in slc and have a mechanic to look at it, the car doesn't start at all other than making a noise like if it wants to starts. so the mechanic told that the Timing belt was broken and needs to be replaced. i was checking the estimates online on your website and it says that labor could go from 150 - 190. plus the price of the part.. if i take the part with me, would you be able to change it anyways? i already bought the belt on autozone so... i would really appreciate if you can give me some feedback. also, do you guys provide towing? if so, how much if i live in orem where i have the car?

We are only an online source of information, we do not repair vehicles. Look in our shop directory for a shop http://repairpal.com/directory
You may have many more problems than you think, if the timing belt broke, then there may be internal damage to the engine and the cylinder head will need to be removed and the engine inspected. :
