timing belt on 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

If timing belt breaks, will it damages valves and other components, or will it just stop the car and belt replacement only?

usually bends valves. sorry. very expensive repair. It is a 90k service. Did you ever have it changed? along with the belt, you change the water pump, t stat, pulleys and tensioners, and all the drive belts. there are cases when the valves do not bend. i would have a shop examine it to confirm. Roy

if your engine is a non interference engine you just replace belt , if interference engine itwill damage engine. contact dealership for informtion
