is the valves bent was going 60-65mph

    Timing belt change intervals are every 105000 miles these are an interference engine so it is most likely valve damage has occurred.

    thanks- I have a '97 with 80,000 miles, do you k ow if the belts wear from simple age? the car is now 13 years old with the original belt... thanks!

    yup, your gonna need some head work. i suggest you put a new belt on it and check compression in all cylinders to see if both heads are hurt. sometimes the cams can snap into a neutral position that keep the valves safe but i've never seen both be safe at the same time.
